A book about transformations.

Yep, the book is about a 10 year old girl, but it’s really about healing our childhood wounds.

This book is for all the bullied girls out there who are now in their 40s, 50s, 60s, who didn’t have the resources girls have today to help support them through tough friendship challenges.

It’s also a middle grade book perfect for the young girls of today.

Of Butterflies and Bullies is such an engaging read. The author is skilled in empathy and I felt like I was a part of the story and could really feel the emotions. This is also such an important topic and conversation starter about how we can support girls being bullied and help them overcome and rise above. I would recommend this book! So great to read.”

Let’s talk frenemies!

Best friends. Girl bullies. Rich girls and girls from the other side of the tracks. Growing and evolving into ourselves through friendships, break-ups, & the power of self-knowing.

This story is for all the bullied girls out there. You are not alone. You are not broken. You are beautiful, whole, and full of possibilities. Hold your head high.

The Story

Molly is ten and her life is about to change dramatically. During a tumultuous and unexpected experience at a new school, she learns that she has to find her own strength to carry on.

This is a story of how it feels to be bullied and the inner transformation that occurs. It’s about best friends and frenemies; about newly discovered differences between rich girls and girls from the other side of the tracks. And it’s about being vulnerable and the power of our own minds to build us up and see us through tough times.

The story is a healing read for adult women and appropriate for junior high readers as well. Ms. Dalton’s words are courageously accurate when expressing the wonder, doubts, and pleasures of being a child on the cusp of puberty.

Molly’s quest for authentic friendship, love, and acceptance will remind us all about the humanity of youth.
